Gold Rush Summer Challenge
Two, Three or Four Person Teams.
Come experience the wilderness of the beautiful lakes and hills of central California
The 2012 event will be Sunday June 3rd. We are expanding the event to include a 2 hr 'sprint' event as well as our traditional 6 hour event and also will include 2, 3 or 4 person teams and solo. On Saturday the 2nd we will have training tips and demos to help newcomers to the sport.
For those of you new to Adventure Racing, the events require the teams to stay together and each member will do every part of the event. This is NOT a relay race.
We will offer camping and refresher courses and activities on Saturday June 2 to help everyone get ready. These will run from 1pm until 5pm. They will be led by experienced adventure racers who can share years of race experience and stories.
1:00pm Mountain Bike fundamentals and tips seminar.
2:15pm Orienteering and navigation seminar
3:30pm Paddling skills seminar
Then we will have a fun evening camping and preparing for the race. The race will include Orienteering, Trekking, Mountain Biking, and Kayaking along with beautiful scenery. The race is appropriate for beginner Adventure Racing teams as well as more experienced teams. Map and compass only, no GPS allowed.
Inflatable boats will be provided for the 2 hour event. For the 6 hour event we recommend you bring your own boats. If you need to rent boats please email us and if we have enough rental requests, we can get a trailer load of boats delivered to the lake.
